COMPLETE GUIDE TO CONTAINER COMPONENTS & HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SETTINGS FOR ANY GAME
Tutorial for Winlator, GameHub & Mobox - ARM, Box64, FEXCore, DXVK, VKD3D Explained
Most people fail to run PC games on Android because they don't understand Container Settings. If you choose the wrong DXVK, Box64, or driver, your game will lag or crash. This tutorial will explain everything step by step.
1. ARM vs x86_64 - The Architecture
ARM64: This is the architecture your phone uses. Snapdragon, MediaTek, Exynos are all ARM.
x86_64: This is the architecture PCs use. All Windows games are built for x86_64.
Your phone cannot run x86_64 games directly. It needs a translator. That is why we use BOX64 and FEXCORE.
2. BOX64 vs FEXCORE - CPU Emulation
BOX64: Most stable emulator. Works with 99% of games. Low battery usage. Best for mid-range devices.
FEXCORE: 20-35% faster than Box64. Requires powerful device (Snapdragon 865 and above). Best for heavy games like GTA V, RDR2, God of War, Cyberpunk 2077. Uses more battery but gives more FPS.
How to choose: Always try FEXCore first. If the game shows black screen or crashes immediately, switch to BOX64.
3. DXVK - For DirectX 9 / 10 / 11 Games
Android does not understand DirectX, it only understands Vulkan. DXVK translates DirectX to Vulkan.
DXVK 2.4 / 2.3.1: Latest version. Best for high-end phones. Gives higher FPS.
DXVK 1.10.3: Older but very stable. Best for old games (2008-2015) and weak phones.
DXVK Async: Special version that fixes stuttering. If your game stutters a lot, use Async.
This is needed for GTA IV, GTA V, FIFA, PES, NFS, Resident Evil, Far Cry, etc.
4. VKD3D - For DirectX 12 Games
If DXVK is for DX11, VKD3D is for DX12. You need it for modern games:
Forza Horizon 5, Cyberpunk 2077, Spider-Man, God of War 2018, The Last of Us, Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring.
Important: Enable both DXVK and VKD3D at the same time. Always use latest VKD3D 2.12+ for best performance.
5. Vulkan Driver - Turnip / VirGL / Native
Turnip (Mesa): Custom driver for Snapdragon only. It is 2x faster than the official Adreno driver. Always use Turnip if you have Snapdragon. Use latest version 24.1.0 or newer.
VirGL / Native: For Mali GPUs (MediaTek, Exynos). Slower than Turnip but it is the only option for Mali.
System / Adreno: Official driver. Only use if Turnip crashes.
6. Wine / Proton - The Windows Environment
Wine creates a Windows system inside your phone.
Wine 9.0+: Latest and best for most new games.
Wine 8.21: Most stable older version. If new Wine gives "missing dll" error, use this.
Proton 9 / Experimental: Wine made by Steam with extra fixes. Use Proton if normal Wine fails to start a game.
7. Processor Affinity - Hidden FPS Boost
Your phone has 8 cores: 4 small cores (for battery saving) + 4 big cores (for gaming). By default the container uses all 8 cores which causes heating and lag.
For SD 8 Gen 1 / 8 Gen 2 / 8 Gen 3 / SD 865 / 888: Set Affinity to 4,5,6,7 (only big cores). You will get +10 to +15 FPS and less heat.
For Mid-range phones: Set to All Cores (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7)
🔥 IMPORTANT: MALI vs ADRENO - BEST WINLATOR TO USE
FOR MALI USERS (Helio G99, G90T, Dimensity, Exynos):
- Do NOT use normal Winlator, it will lag badly.
- Use Winlator Bionic - Mali Version (by GunaCharanTeja/WinlatorMali/releases and more creators): This is a special build fixed for Mali GPUs. It fixes black screen and graphics glitches.
- Use Winator / Winative: New emulator optimized for Mali devices. Much faster than Winlator for Mali phones because it uses native ARM support.
- Driver: Use VirGL or Native driver. Do NOT use Turnip (Turnip is Snapdragon only).
- DXVK: Use DXVK 1.10.3 - latest DXVK is too heavy for Mali GPUs.
FOR ADRENO USERS (Snapdragon):
- Best Winlator is Winlator CMod or Ludashi Winlator: These are modified versions with latest Turnip drivers built-in. Better performance and more stable than official Winlator 7.1.
- CMod 16 / CMod 18: Most stable version, includes Turnip 24.1.0
- Ludashi Winlator: Best FPS for Snapdragon 8 Gen series
- Always use Turnip Driver + FEXCore for maximum FPS.

🔥 FOR HIGH-END ADRENO (SD 8 Gen 1 / 2 / 3):
Winlator: CMod or Ludashi Winlator
Translator: FEXCore - Preset: Performance
DXVK: 2.4 Latest
VKD3D: 2.12 Latest
Wine: 9.0 or Proton 9
Driver: Turnip 24.1.0 Latest
Affinity: 4,5,6,7
📱 FOR MID-RANGE MALI (Helio G99 / Dimensity):
Winlator: Winlator Bionic-Mali or Winative
Translator: BOX64 - Preset: Compatibility
DXVK: 1.10.3
Wine: 8.21
Driver: VirGL / Native
Affinity: All Cores (0-7)
